Whether it’s partnering for long-term missions abroad, or helping our church family share God’s love through short-term missions around the world or changing the lives of children in our community and in nations around the globe, getting outside the walls of our church is integral part of who we are.

Through our relationship with Canadian Baptist Ministries, we help to enable ministry within Canada as well as all over the world, with focused support of the following Partners in Mission.
Rwanda
Darrell and Laura Lee Bustin
The Bustins joined CBM in 2002 and they moved to Rwanda in August 2012. Darrell’s primary focus is in pastoral training and church leadership development. He works both with pastors, as well as those studying to be pastors and church leaders. Laura Lee is responsible for overseeing the administrative details for the short-term mission teams that come to Rwanda.
Children
At Rusagonis Baptist Church, we are committed to valuing children:
- We believe every child deserves to be loved for who they are, and for the way God made them. (Psalm 139:14)
- We believe church should be fun for children – not stuffy or boring! (Psalm 149:3)
- We believe children are able to have a personal relationship with God, and should be given every opportunity to develop that relationship. (Luke 18:16)
- We believe children should hear of God’s never ending love for them. (John 3:16)
- We believe parents should feel confident that their children are being entrusted to a safe, affirming, and nurturing environment. (Matthew 18:5-6)

Abba’s Joy
Abba is the Aramaic word for “Daddy” and is the most intimate name we have for God as our Heavenly Father. (Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6)
Abba’s Joy is a specialized worship program for children, designed specifically with them in mind.
When? Sundays, 10:45 –Noon (same time as “grown-up church”)
Where? Rusagonis Baptist Church Fellowship Hall
For Who? Children *Age 3 – Grade 5
(*Children must be toilet-trained. A Nursery option is available for younger children)
Youth
The Upper Room
Sunday Morning Bible and Life Study
Youth join the adults in worship at 10:45, then move to the Upper Room for their study time part-way through the service. On the first Sunday of the month when we observe The Lord’s Supper (aka “Communion”), we invite the youth to remain in the main service.
The Upper Room is a place where youth have freedom to interact with one another and to ask questions that relate Christian faith to their everyday lives.
Mid-Week Youth Group
- Middle School, Wednesdays, 6:30-7:45pm
- High School, Wednesdays, 8:00-9:15pm
Mid-week groups are activity-based, with lots of creative and sometimes “wacky” games, outings, and events. Each week, the group also has “DEVO-Time” where an aspect of God’s truth is shared.
