Rusagonis Baptist Church held a Compassion Sunday on May 5. Compassion Canada is a Christian organization that exists to release children from poverty in Jesus name, predominantly through one-to-one child sponsorship.
At this year’s event, we were privileged to have David Wangaka as a guest speaker, who traveled from Colorado Springs to spend the morning with us. David grew up in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya, and is a former sponsored child, now working with Compassion.
Six new child sponsorships were started by individuals and families, bringing the church’s total to more than 70! We are prayerful that as children are given the opportunity to receive proper nutrition, medical care and education…as well as love, support, and an introduction to Jesus Christ, they will be empowered to make a positive impact in their family and community life…and only God knows where else.
If you would like to know more about Compassion or their ministry, feel free to contact Pastor Brent at Rusagonis Baptist Church, or visit the Compassion website.
